McARTHUR, Isabel
Died peacefully on June 16, 2011 at Scarborough General Hospital at the age of 90. Born November 29, 1920 to Peter McArthur and Ellen Rackstraw. Loving sister to the late Jack, Eleanor, Harry and Eddie McArthur. Devoted aunt to Peter McArthur, Ruth Germann (John), Paul McArthur, and the late Judy Heddle (John) and the late Peter Taylor McArthur. Dear friend of Eleanor and Richard Cammidge and many fellow parishioners at West Hill United Church.
Isabel enjoyed a long career at Bell Canada as a telephone operator. She loved travelling, bridge, music, dancing, rug-hooking and hiking. She was a cheerful, kind and independent person who loved life and adored her loyal pets. Sincere thanks to the caring staff at Scarborough Retirement Centre and Scarborough General Hospital.
Family and friends may gather at the Sherrin Funeral Home, 873 Kingston Rd., Toronto 416-698-2861 on Monday, June 20, 2011 between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., with a service to follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toronto Humane Society. |
