Obituary - Muriel Moodie (Mimi) Scott 1992

    Source Information

    • Title Obituary - Muriel Moodie (Mimi) Scott 1992
Short Title Obituary - Muriel Moodie (Mimi) Scott 1992
Publisher From a clipping saved by John and Judy Heddle. The source isn't listed, but I am guessing it was an edition of the Herb Watcher or other journal of the Herb Society of America.
      Source ID S699
Text Died in her sleep on December 23rd, 1992.

She was a great-grand-daughter of Catharine Parr Traill and co-authored a book in her honour. Mimi graduated in 1928 from the Ontario College of Art, later had a career that brought international fame with her marionettes - some of which are preserved in the Ontario Puppet Museum.

A member of The Herb Society of America, a founding member of the Southern Ontario Unit (1968) and devoted, hard working member of our Unit. She was a keen gardener, also a potter - her ceramic St. Francis presided over her garden, which was selected and is contained in Herb Garden Design by Swanson and Rady.

Mimi was Editor of the Herb Watcher from Newsletter #3, February 1976 until Newsletter #15, September 1982. She had a way with words that was both refreshing and stimulating. Mimi was generous with her talents and her herbs.
