      Text SWITCHMAN FATALLY HURT

Car Ran Down Man At Parkdale Station Yesterday

Robert Campbell, 10 Virtue avenue, a switchman, was knocked down and killed by a freight car while engaged cleaning up Parkdale yards yesterday afternoon. A shunting crew had just sent a car running on its own momentum towards the switch at which Campbell was working. He threw himself to one side in an effort to get out of the way but his legs were caught underneath the wheels. He died on his way to the Western Hospital.
