      Daughter of Rev. Dominick Edward Blake and Anne Margaret Hume of County Wicklow, Ireland. She journeyed with her widowed mother, siblings and other relatives to Canada in 1832 and came to the area of London, Ontario. She was married by her brother, Rev. Dominick Edward Blake Jr. at St. Ann's Anglican parish church in Adelaide, Middlesex County on Feb. 27,1834 to Rev. Richard Flood who had recently been posted to Christ Church Anglican parish church in Delaware, Ontario, near to London.
